FAQ

How to determine if a daily money manager is right for you

How are you different from a financial advisor?

In a nutshell, a financial advisor helps with your investments. I help with your income, bill paying, and spending, so you can maintain your independence.

A financial advisor can be wonderful at wealth accumulation. They often don’t get involved with the spending or living situations of their senior clients beyond investments. This is where I can help.

I work alongside you, to help preserve your standard of living by examining your monthly income (Social Security checks, pension, IRA disbursements, etc.) and your monthly expenses (medical, car insurance, health insurance, mortgage payments, gifts to grandchildren, dining out, groceries, travel, magazine subscriptions, catalog shopping, etc.)

You would be amazed at how much it costs to walk out the door every day! But I help my clients regain control of their finances, by discovering and managing “hidden” expenses before they can take a bite out of your income.

How do you get paid?

I work at an affordable hourly rate, with no long-term contracts or commitments. For most clients, about two hours per month are all that are needed to help manage their finances.

How often do you visit clients?

Depending on your needs, I can assist you weekly, monthly, or quarterly. At all times, my goal is to empower you to do as much as you want, with a minimum of assistance.

How do I know if this is right for me or for my retired parents?

My services can support you if you are an older adult worried about maintaining your standard of living, or if you’re concerned about your mother’s or father’s financial situation, but don’t have the time or expertise to take care of your parents’ daily finances.

What People Are Saying

“After my dad passed away there were a lot of decisions that my mom had to make that we wanted to help her with. We were all very overwhelmed with the decisions that had to be made, so I can’t even imagine how difficult it would have been for my mom to navigate this. Thank you so much for helping us through a really difficult time and helping my mom regain control over her life!”

“Your gentle, thoughtful, and skillful guidance made the difference. Your very presence, demeanor, was of the same cloth as the practical suggestions that you made. Our world here is very different here now. At this Thanksgiving season, it’s a good time to write ‘Thanks for your help’, although the phrase falls short of the meaning of your work with us and for us.”
